The Most Controversial Match in the history of Snooker

Snooker is a gentleman's sport. As  it is part of the game, snooker players usually remain calm and don't express in a violent or out of norms' way when gets frustrated. But sometimes it gets nasty.

Something real controversial  happened in 1996 when Ronnie O'Sullivan played Alain Robidoux of Canada in World Snooker Championship. In the last frames the 20-year-old Ronnie O'Sullivan decided to play several shots with his left hand (as he usually does) which pissed Alain Robidoux off and therefore Alain decides not to concede despite being way behind with no chance of winning.

At the end of the match, in which O'Sullivan produced two century breaks, Robidoux did not shake hands. "He started it. He didn't shake hands with me at the start, so I did the same to him,'' he explained.
The feud continued when O'Sullivan then savaged Robidoux in a radio interview. "He was rubbish - he shouldn't have been on the same table as me. I was rubbish as well, but I still beat him 10-3,'' said O'Sullivan.

When asked why he had played left-handed, O'Sullivan added:
"I felt comfortable playing left-handed. I've made 90-breaks with my left-hand - I'm better with my left hand than he was with his right.
Later on Ronnie O'Sullivan was summoned to a disciplinary hearing in response to Robidoux's formal complaint, where he had to prove that he could play to a high level with his left hand. He played three frames of snooker against former world championship runner-up Rex Williams, winning all three. The charge of bringing the game into disrepute was subsequently dropped.
Here is the full video to the last frames of the match and press conference.

Good News for Rocket Ronnie O'Sullivan fans

Rocket Ronnie O'Sullivan is always loved for his rapid style and incredible break building by snooker lovers but this time he would be sharing something else with his fans.
Apart from snooker, one of the other Ronnie O’Sullivan‘s endeavors is writing.Yes you read it right. Ronnie O’Sullivan is a writer and after writing down two crime novels , Ronnie O’Sullivan is back with something more about his personal diet and fitness secrets.
Bonnier Publishing imprint Lagom has signed snooker ace Ronnie O’Sullivan’s first health and fitness book. Entitled Top of Your Game: Eating for the Mind and Body, it will contain over 80 “nourishing” recipes, created with Harley Street nutritionist and author Rhiannon Lambert.
The book, pitched as "a one stop shop for living better, eating healthier and feeding your brain to enhance your performance", will focus on how food links to concentration and mental sharpness, as well as combatting insomnia, anxiety and learning how to digitally detox.Natalie Jerome, acquisitions director and publisher at Bonnier Publishing, signed world language rights from Jonny Geller and Cathryn Summerhayes at Curtis Brown.
O'Sullivan OBE has won 32 ranking titles in snooker, including five World Championships, seven masters and a joint record six UK Championship titles. According to Bonnier Publishing, the new book will “show readers how to eat, think and work your way to being number one – and how to stay there”. It draws on O'Sullivan's learnings from his nutritionist, Lambert, after two years ago he "hit a wall with his physical and mental wellbeing".
O'Sullivan said his new attitude to diet, health and fitness had changed his life. “When it comes to snooker, I should be on the way down by now, but here I am in my 40’s still competing at the top of the game and fitter than ever," he said. "I truly believe what you eat keeps you young and in prime position. There are kids half my age competing and they can't concentrate because they eat rubbish and never put down their phones! It's all about eating great food, pacing yourself, recuperating and knowing your mental health is just as important as your physical health. The biggest gains are made when you fuel yourself well, exercise regularly and you rest – thinking this way has changed my life.”
Lambert, his co-author, has worked with sports men and women including Chelsea footballer Cesc Fabregas, England international cricketer Nick Compton and British paralympic gold medallist rower David Smith MBE, as well as with TV personalities Lisa Snowdon and "Masterchef" presenter Gregg Wallace.
Top of Your Game publishes on 27th December 2018.

Most Disrespectful Snooker Player ?

Snooker is known to be a gentleman sport. It requires technique , passion but most importantly sportsmanship and patience to tackle and handle hard and incredible moments.Snooker has seen some real great legends and gentlemen like Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry ,Steve Davis and many more. But is it really needed to change this way of the game ? Should there be more emotions attached with the game of Snooker ?
The Luca Brecel of Belgium aka Belgian Bullet thinks so and has said it several times that there should be more expression of the passion and emotion in the game of Snooker.Luca Brecel (born 8 March 1995 in Dilsen-Stokkem) is a Belgian professional snooker player. He won the European Under-19 title at the age of 14 and is the youngest player to play at the Crucible after qualifying for the 2012 World Championship aged 17. His first ranking event final came at the 2016 German Masters which he lost to Martin Gould. The following year, he became the first player from mainland Europe to win a ranking event, defeating Shaun Murphy in the final of the 2017 China Championship.
He did shout against Ronnie O'Sullivan after his victory over him in the Quarterfinal of the China Championship 2017 and explained later on that he expressed his emotions and nothing else.
Although Snooker pundits did criticize it and said that it was against the game's spirit to shout like this. Some called it real disrespectful specially against one of the all time greats of the game.
Here is the video:
He didn't stop here and yet again screamed against Ross Muir in the qualifiers of the World Open 2017.Here is the Video
