He won the European Under-19 title at the age of 14 and is the youngest player to play at the Crucible after qualifying for the 2012 World Championship aged 17. His first ranking event final came at the 2016 German Masters which he lost to Martin Gould. The following year, he became the first player from mainland Europe to win a ranking event, defeating Shaun Murphy in the final of the 2017 China Championship.
He did shout against Ronnie O'Sullivan after his victory over him in the Quarterfinal of the China Championship 2017 and explained later on that he expressed his emotions and nothing else.
Although Snooker pundits did criticize it and said that it was against the game's spirit to shout like this. Some called it real disrespectful specially against one of the all time greats of the game.
